*Job Summary: *We are a new childcare center focusing on improving the lives of children and families with comprehensive support through accessible childcare and the love of Christ.
Food preparation involves extensive physical activity, mental alertness, and enthusiasm.
Meal preparation requires bending, stooping, and lifting.
This position requires a person who is able to plan and carry out a daily menu designed to meet the nutritional needs of a group of children.
*List of Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Prepare nutritious meals and snacks following safe food preparation guidelines and the daily menu
* Provide substitute meals to meet the needs of children with special dietary requirements
* Prepare food in a timely manner that meets the daily food service schedule
* Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and food storage areas
* Maintain food inventories
* Monitor safe food storage temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer
* Maintain all documentation associated with food service
* Implement health, safety and sanitation procedures throughout the day
* Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
*Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:*
* Ability to remain calm and patient at all times with a compassionate demeanor;
* Strong problem solving abilities;
* Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire)
* Idaho Food Handlers Permit (or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire)
* Enhanced Background Check (or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire)
* 1 year in a similar role strongly preferred;
* (preferred) High School Diploma or equivalent.
*Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to move quickly to supervise and assist young children;
* Lifting children, equipment, and supplies, up to 50 pounds in weight;
* Frequent sitting (including on the floor), stepping, bending, twisting, and kneeling forextended periods;
* Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
Frequent hand washing is a must;
* Ability to visually and audibly respond to children in emergency situations.
