Our center helps students of all ages become confident in their academic journey.
Our students range from grades K-12, and generally are clever, fun, quirky, and often very underconfident.
We provide services in BOISE, IDAHO.
Instructor Responsibilities: * Meet with students at the learning center and proceed with the curriculum, working with each assigned student one-on-one for 50 minutes, 2-4x a week (YEAR-ROUND INSTRUCTION.
) Must be able to work at least 2 Saturday mornings a month for make-up lessons, as needed.
Saturday mornings are exclusively for make-ups so the appointments are rarely filled but we must have the option available.
* Identify challenges that students are facing, and note them in the progress tracker.
* Review and reinforce areas of difficulty, using materials available in the office and/or other materials/methods.
* Communicate with the support staff about other concerns/progress.
Requirements/Training: The remediation curriculums are provided, and training is also provided using our online training process as well as in-person training and quarterly guest speakers/workshops.
In addition to the curriculum, there are other materials at the center to reinforce key concepts.
Instructors consult with support staff to discuss challenges and questions.
Some sessions require sitting, kneeling, and standing-kinesthetic learning is an important part of our program.
Instructors should have: * Strong English language skills (preferred) * Teaching certificate preferred * Comfortable with students with learning disabilities like Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, and Autism.
* Understanding of how to manage a session with a student being more animated or more calm depending upon the student, in order to keep a student actively participating and engaged.
* Experience working with children/teens * Patience, understanding, and enthusiasm for helping students build literacy skills.
* An interest in the science of reading and writing.
* Excellent communication skills * Creative and effective classroom management skills * Ability to establish a solid rapport with assigned students.
* Ability to pass a background check.
Schedule/Availability: Instructors have flexibility with their schedules, and students are matched based on availability.
Center office hours are Monday through Friday, 12:30 PM-8:00 PM, with flexibility for individual instructors’ schedules.
Instructors must be willing to have a slowly built schedule.
Instructors will be offered opportunities to substitute for others as well.
Compensation: Job Types: Part-time Salary: starting at $15.
00 with a cap at $25.
