We are a non-profit organization running Head Start and comparable state funded early childcare and education programs throughout the state of Oregon.

*Preschool Teacher* *Position Summary:* Ensures, supports, and promotes each child’s learning, well being, and development in cooperation with their parents and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with the Head Start Performance Standards, USDA, and day care licensing regulations.
Based on parent goals, classroom observations and individual child assessments the teacher plans a developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum which meets the needs of all children and their families.
*Essential Functions:* Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position *Classroom Operation* * Provides positive feedback and support to classroom staff.
* Establishes a well managed, child oriented learning curriculum and environment.
* Implements and complies with the program work plan.
* Implements and complies with Head Start Performance Standards, OCDC policies and procedures, Child Care Division (CCD) licensing requirements, Child Outcomes Framework, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and USDA.
* Meets with appropriate staff, parents, and professionals to share curriculum, progress, and needs * Assists in the planning and conducting of classroom meetings and team building strategies.
* Participates in regular classroom meetings with classroom staff and supervisor.
*Curriculum Development and Instruction* * Ensures overall curriculum development and instruction including individualization, building concepts, literacy enrichment, and language development.
* Develops curriculum that builds on observations of children and utilizes a variety of approaches to learning.
* Assists in developing and implementing comprehensive and individualized family services plans (IFSP) for each child with special needs in collaboration with parents, co-workers, and consultants.
*Observations, Assessments, and Outcomes* * Ensures child outcomes through Creative Curriculum process * Reviews PEDS and ASQ/ASQ-SE results for all children.
* Completes developmental screening and follow-up in collaboration with the mental health/disabilities staff.
* Maintains children’s work sample portfolios.
*Education and Job Requirements:* Preschool Teacher A - PG C-8, $23.
64: Associate’s degree in Early childhood education or child development; or Any field and coursework equivalent_1_ to a major relating to early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children.
Preschool Teacher B - PG C-11, $26.
59: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development; or Any field and coursework equivalent_2_ to a major relating to early childhood education or child development AND 6 months of actual work experience teaching preschool age children.
