Position Summary:
As a Forklift Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and conducting training programs to educate and certify individuals in safe and efficient forklift operation.
Your role will involve instructing trainees on proper handling, maintenance, and safety protocols associated with operating forklifts in various settings.
Essential Functions:
• Training Program Development: Design, develop, and update training materials, manuals, and modules focusing on forklift operations, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and comprehensive training sessions, both theoretical and practical, ensuring trainees understand forklift functionalities, controls, loading/unloading procedures, and safety measures.
• Hands-on Instruction: Provide on-the-ground guidance and practical demonstrations to trainees, offering real-time feedback and guidance to enhance their forklift operation skills.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols and practices in forklift operation.
• Evaluation and Certification: Assess trainees’ performance through written tests, practical assessments, and simulations to determine their readiness for certification.
Issue certifications upon successful completion of training.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements related to forklift operations.
Continuously enhance training programs to align with the latest standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, evaluations, and certifications.
Generate reports on training effectiveness and areas for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience: Proven experience as a forklift operator with a deep understanding of forklift functionalities, safety standards, and operational best practices.
• Certification: Valid forklift trainer certification or extensive experience in training and certifying forklift operators.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively teach and engage with trainees of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Instructional Abilities: Strong presentation and instructional abilities to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
• Safety Consciousness: Deep commitment to safety protocols and the ability to instill a safety-first mindset in trainees.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize training schedules and materials efficiently.
• Previous Training Experience: Prior experience in designing and conducting training programs, preferably in a forklift or heavy equipment operation context preferred
• Education: A relevant certification or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Instructional Design, or a related field can be advantageous.
