Summary Statement Fort Boise Community Center is seeking Pickleball Instructors to instruct and coach adults in the fundamentals of the game of pickleball.
This position is open to persons aged 18 and older.
This position is designated as At-Will.
Essential Functions Instructs or coaches students on specific physical fitness disciplines including weight-training, Pilates, yoga or other physical fitness disciplines.
(85%) Communicates with the Community Center Coordinator and administrative staff regarding class rosters, concerns or other issues involving the classes.
Attends training sessions as required.
Ensures the well-being of students while taking part in scheduled classes.
Explains how to safely use equipment and use proper form and breathing during exercise.
(15%) Performs other duties as assigned.

Total Percentage = 100% Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Must be at least 18 years of age.
Previous experience in the fitness discipline she or he will be instructing.
Working knowledge of various physical fitness disciplines and effective communication skills.
Ability to learn lesson plans and tools; demonstrate skills to participants; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training Five years of experience in teaching and/or coordinating fitness programs and classes; previous teaching and/or coaching experience; First Aid and CPR certification.
Special Requirements Applicants must be able to pass: City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process RegulationDrug Free Workplace: In accordance with the City of Boise Drug Free Workplace Regulation, this position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to testing requirements including Post Offer Applicant Testing, Random Testing, Reasonable Suspicion, Post - Accident, etc.
Applicants will be required to submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to hire.
Appointment to this position is contingent upon a negative pre-employment drug test.
This position has responsibilities that require the person to work with minors or individuals with disabilities.

Physical Efforts While performing the duties of this job the employee is always lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.

Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Employees will stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb and balance.
Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment The work environment will include inside conditions.
Work includes protected exposure to infectious bacteria and bodily fluids.
This position works: varying hours depending on class times.
Classes are held mornings, afternoons and evenings.
19-Hour TemporaryAll temporary part-time employees working less than an average of 19-hours per week are not currently eligible for benefits.
4-Month TemporaryAll 4-month temporary employees working an average of 40-hours per week will accrue personal leave which can be used during employment.
8-Month Seasonal In addition to accruing personal leave, anyone in an 8-month seasonal position working over an average of 30-hours per week is eligible for medical coverage.
9-Month TemporaryIn addition to personal leave accrual and medical coverage, a position that is classified as a 9-month temporary is eligible for PERSI retirement benefits.
