Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated STEM Program Teacher to join our programs for students in grades K-6.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, along with the ability to create engaging and hands-on learning experiences.
The STEM Program Teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing curriculum, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and inspiring young minds to explore the wonders of STEM.
Responsibilities:
1.
Curriculum Development:
· Develop and implement a comprehensive STEM curriculum that aligns with K-6 learning objectives and standards.
· Create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
2.
Instruction:
· Facilitate interactive and hands-on STEM lessons for students in grades K-6.
· Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
· Foster a collaborative and inquiry-based learning environment.
3.
Classroom Management:
· Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
· Implement effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
4.
Assessment and Progress Tracking:
· Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and other means.
· Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress to parents or guardians.
5.
Professional Development:
· Stay current with developments in STEM education and integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies into the program.
· Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
6.
Collaboration:
· Collaborate with other STEM Program Teachers and staff to enhance the overall program experience.
· Communicate regularly with parents and program administrators to share updates on student progress and program activities.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or a related field.
· Teaching certification preferred.
· Experience working with elementary school-aged children.
· Strong knowledge of STEM concepts and their application in real-world scenarios.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position, requiring availability during afterschool hours or weekends.
