We are currently adding to our Rockstar team of Early Childhood Educators! - Floaters / Teacher Aides Working with children involves extensive physical activity, mental alertness, and enthusiasm.
Good general health, physical stamina, and emotional stability are essential.
The work is never routine, with each day marked by new activities and challenges.
Child care requires bending, stooping, and lifting as workers attend to each child’s interests and problems.
The environment is often noisy and workers occasionally have to contend with unpleasant odors.
It can be an extremely stressful environment at times.
However, there are many rewarding moments throughout the day.
Tasks of Child Care Teacher include the following: Child Care Teacher This position requires a person who is able to plan and carry out a daily program designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of a group of children.
This person must be able to effectively supervise other staff assisting in the classroom, be sensitive to the needs of individual children, and relate well to both children and adults.
Job Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and implement the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a classroom group of children.
Provide care and protection for assigned children.
Maintain a physical environment conductive to children’s growth and development and arrange to promote optimal program functioning.
Consider and provide for the needs of the individual child in relationship to his/her cultural and socioeconomic background, emotional or physical handicaps, and individual style and pace of learning.
Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child.
Help children learn to adapt to, and cope with, real-life situations; to develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping, and personal hygiene.
Work with, and refer to the program director, children with unmet special needs, as well as families with problems that affect the child in the center.
Make daily observations of the health of the children, reporting conditions that require attention; administer first aid treatment.
Hold regular parent-teacher conferences (2 a year minimum) and seek to involve parents in the child development program by participating in parent meetings and demonstrating an interest in the child which extends beyond the classroom.
Maintain progress records on the emotional, social, and intellectual development of assigned children.
Supervise and encourage the development of assistant teachers, aides, volunteers, and other child care personnel in the classroom.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops, and other career development and professional activities.
Ensure that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate, and in good condition.
Perform classroom-related maintenance duties.
Participate in staff meetings and in-service training.
Cooperate with program director in evaluation of assistants.
Perform related duties as assigned.
