SCOPE:
A Retail Cashier is responsible for processing cash, debit, credit, and check transactions using a cash register or other point-of-sale system in a retail environment.
Their duties include balancing the cash register, making change, recording purchases, processing returns and scanning items for sale.
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES
Provide high-quality customer service in accordance with our Company's customer service standards and policies and procedures.
Greet customers and provide friendly, courteous, and efficient customer checkout service.
Learn and follow all applicable company policies and procedures regarding discounts, coupons, refunds, cash handling, employee purchase and all other transactions handled at the register.
Operate electronic scanning cash register to total customers' final bill.
Maintain a clean and safe work area including check stand area as well as straightening up end cap display areas near check stand.
Maintain the restrooms clean
Put products away when inventory arrives.
Stock shelves and display cases with appropriate products as needed.
Maintain storage room.
Count and reconcile cash and coupons in cash register drawer at beginning and end of every shift.

The Retail Cashier will report directly to the store manager.
This position will understand and live our Core Values.
It will be necessary to multitask, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations, and work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Good communication and interpersonal skills
One year of experience in a high-volume retail/food store environment
Must be 18 years or older
Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
Proven track record of accurate cashier transactions completed
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
Both in outside weather conditions as well as in an office environment, including extreme heat and cold
Regularly required to talk and hear
Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
Lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
Vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
